Yes, you do save lives.

Did you know that about half of the blood needed by patients in this country comes from high school blood drives? By donating blood and coordinating blood drives at your high school, you offer an important community service by making sure that blood is available when people need it. All of the information you need to make your school’s blood drive a success is available through your Account Manager and in the High School Blood Drive Planning Guide.

By law, consent forms are required for all 16-year-old students. Your school’s administration decides whether or not parental consent forms are required for all students. Please check with your school’s administration or your Account Manager regarding your school’s policy.

You can download the parent consent form here.

In addition to helping your community, as a blood drive chairperson or participant, you are also eligible to apply for a $500 college scholarship. Select the application for your area and submit by deadline. (Deadlines vary by area.)
